Froglife is a UK wildlife charity committed to the conservation of frogs, toads, newts, snakes and lizards, and saving their disappearing habitats.

Froglife has had a number of notable projects that have set the pace for how conservation organisations engage with environmentally excluded groups and communities.  Much of our work in Peterborough is focused around Hampton Nature Reserve, home to Europe's largest colony of great crested newts.  Froglife manage this incredible site on behalf of land-owners O&H Hampton Ltd.

Froglife is proud to manage Hampton Nature Reserve, a three hundred acre site with a variety of habitats that are home to a amphibians, reptiles and an array of other wildlife.

Hampton Nature Reserve Volunteers
Are you interested in getting involved with some practical conservation work and meeting new people and getting out in the fresh air?  Froglife can help!   Hampton Nature Reserve Volunteers (HNR Volunteers) meet every Thursday and every second and fourth Saturday to carry out maintenance and practical habitat management on the reserve.  As well as playing an important part in conserving the habitat to benefit the various species living there it is also a great way to relieve stress.  Tasks include, scrub clearance, creating egg-laying sites for grass snakes, pond management, creating hibernacula (hibernation sites).

To find out more contact Conservation Officer Paul Furnborough on paul.furnborough@froglife.org or 01733 425825 / 07977 250048.  You will need to wear outdoor clothes and strong footwear and to bring you own lunch; we’ll provide the tea and biscuits!
