Christ the Servant King
a church for the people of Hampton

I am an Anglican priest and our church is part of the Anglican Communion, a member of The Church of England.

You may be wondering if we have a church on Hampton?  Where is the building?  The term church relates to people and not to a building.  Church can and does happen anywhere, including Hampton without a specific building.  So saying that, I long to see a community building for Hampton that reflects the size of our population and has the necessary community amenities.  A stand along "hub" for our growing and developing community.

We are "Christ the Servant King."  An amazing title for our church as we think about that what the life of Jesus can teach us as we journey through life together.  A King who came to serve, and to show us "a new and living way."  All are welcome, as they are, no need to masquerade as someone else to be accepted at CSK!  A place where the welcome that we offer to one another enables deep and lasting relationships that sustain us throughout the highs and lows of everyday living.

"Finding our Creator God in the ordinariness of every day."

We seek to be relevant to our context and not to comprise our beliefs.  Discerning what "Church" looks like for now in this place and allowing people to first and for most "to be," and not asking you to jump through hoops to be a part of our Christian community.

I believe that we are created to be in relationship with one another and with our Creator.  We as Hampton church believe in our local community.

We are a growing group of people with a common vision to see our community flourish.  We do not have all the answers but as church and as individuals we seek to work out what it means to live in a world that has a Creator, a God.  A God who entered the world as a human being in the person of Jesus in order to show each one of us how we are loved and how we are to be fully human.

We are a growing gathering of people that includes all ages.  We have Sunday school facilities with a creche, primary school and teenager provision.  The ethos for our young people is about having fun in a safe environment, developing existing friendships and to make new ones.  There is Christian teaching and our leaders focus on the themes being discussed by the adults.

Please make contact if you are thinking about wedding preparation, a wedding service or a baptism service.  We cannot take a wedding on Hampton because we do not have a licensed building but we can take your service in a neighbouring parish church.  We can baptise an infant, a child or an adult anywhere and we have a flourishing ministry here in Hampton.

No previous experience is necessary to come and see what we do.  We meet on a Sunday morning in Hampton Vale Primary School at 10.00am.  We meet as community, building relationships, getting to know each other as we share something of our own story and the Jesus story.

Please come and see for yourself you are most welcome.
